The Benefits of Same Day Dentistry

same day dentistry serviceWhen work or family demands don't leave much time for dental appointments, it makes sense to take advantage of same-day dentistry services. Our Evans and Augusta, GA, family dentist, Dr. Scott Wingard and Dr. Caleb Morris, help you care for your teeth with several same-day dental treatments.

Same-day dentistry advantages

Same-day dental services offer two important benefits:

  • Convenience: You won't need to work two appointments into your schedule or use more vacation or sick time than absolutely necessary when you choose same-day dental treatments.
  • The Latest Techniques: Same-day dentistry is possible thanks to innovative computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM). CAD/CAM technology eliminates the need for a dental laboratory. Instead, your restorations are designed on your dentists' computers and manufactured in the office while you wait.

What services are available on the same day?

Same-day dentistry is a good choice if you need:

  • Crowns: Temporary crowns and messy putty impressions are no longer a must, thanks to same-day crown production techniques. Your new crown will be designed by combining digital photographs, impressions, and X-rays to form a digital three-dimensional image. Once your dentist is happy with the design, the in-office milling machine will remove layers from a block of ceramic or resin to create your restoration.
  • Inlays and Onlays: Fillings may not be the best restoration choice if you have extensive tooth decay. Inlays, restorations that fit inside the cusps of your teeth, and onlays, restorations that extend beyond at least one cusp, may be a better option. Although inlays and onlays used to be crafted in dental labs, same-day technology makes it simple to create these restorations without a laboratory.
  • Dental Veneers: Veneers cover up imperfections in teeth or even whiten your entire smile. The thin, tooth-shaped shells are placed on the fronts of tooth enamel where flaws are most noticeable. Veneers fill gaps in your smile, hide discolorations, transform the shape or length of a tooth and conceal discolorations. In the past, patients had to wait several weeks while the lab produced their restorations. Today, you can leave your dentists' Evans and Augusta office with a brand new smile after just one visit.

Same-day dentistry services can help you restore your smile and improve your appearance. Schedule an appointment with family dentists, Dr. Wingard and Dr. Morris, by calling (706) 250-2998 for the Evans office, or (706) 738-4723 for the Augusta office.
